Plettenberg Bay, locally simply “Plett”, is situated in the heart of the South African Garden Route between the Tsitsikamma Mountains and the Indian Ocean, 210km from Port Elizabeth and 550km from Cape Town. Please have a look at the map for an overview.

Plettenberg Bay (Plett) is home to a Mediterranean climate, blessed with long sunshine hours and unique vegetation. The region boasts an abundance of fynbos, while proteas thrive in nearby Natures Valley, amidst other flourishing plants. The area is widely recognised for its stunning natural beauty, earning it the title of Bahia Formosa, or the Beautiful Bay, coined by Manuel de Perestrelo back in 1577.

Plett has been a top tourism destination for both local and foreign visitors for many years and has gained international recognition as the Saint Tropez of South Africa. Lookout points in the nearby mountains afford endless views of the unspoilt golden beaches of the Indian Ocean, making it a truly breathtaking destination.
